All dogs kept on land designated urban, village or rural residential under 10 acres in property area in the shire must be registered at (3) three months of age. The annual registration fee is $80.00. The fee attracts a 50% discount if it is desexed.

A special permit is needed when more than one dog over the age of three (3) months is being kept:

(a) On land designated Urban, Village or Rural Residential on the Local Government’s Strategic Plan having an area of less than 3 000m2.

A permit is required to keep more than two dogs over the age of three (3) months on land designated Urban, Village or Rural Residential on the Gatton Shire Councils Strategic Plan having an area of 3 000m2 or greater, but less than 20 000m2.

A permit is required to keep more than three dogs over the age of three (3) months on land designated Urban, Village or Rural Residential on Gatton Shire’s Strategic Plan having an area of 20 000m2 or greater, but less than 40 000 m2.
