The Department of Primary Industries along with Council conducts Wild Dog Baiting programs from time to time throughout the Region. Program times are advertised in The Gatton Star in the lead up to the program.
When is the next Wild Dog Baiting program?
These will be conducted at the following locations:
Laidley Site

Gatton Sale Yards - Saleyard Road, Gatton
To obtain baits you must register with Council and advise of the number of baits you need before the date of the program.
To order your baits please call us on 1300005872.
No orders will be taken after 5pm.
What’s required to take part in the program?
- Your property must be more than 40 hectares (100 acres)
- You must be more than 5km from the nearest town
- You can’t lay baits within 1km of a house without written consent
- Must give 72hrs prior notice for intention of laying baits to all adjoining neighbours, including across roadways
- An authority form is to be signed if getting baits for another person
- You must supply your rates notice
- Baits are to be retrieved within 7 days and destroyed
We supply baits free of charge.
Random audits may be done to monitor compliance with requirements.
