Full steam ahead for Laidley Spring Festival

LAIDLEY is gearing up for the town’s annual Spring Festival to be held from Thursday September 9 to Saturday September 11.
The bumper program will again feature the Spring Festival Parade, which will showcase heritage trucks, vintage vehicles, community groups, members of the Light Horse Troop, Air Force Cadets, and a variety of Floats and Bands.  The Parade will again start at 12 noon on Saturday 11th after the arrival of the steam train from Ipswich.
The Laidley Garden Club will again present ‘Gardens and Flowers’ to be held in the Laidley Cultural Centre together with the Lockyer Valley Orchid Society’s annual Spring Orchid Show and the art group’s exhibits of paintings from the Thursday to the Saturday of the festival.
Das Neumann Haus featuring Annie’s Place Coffee Shoppe and the Second Childhood Toy Museum in Edward Street will be open for the entire festival.
The ever popular Quilt and Craft Expo will be held in the Uniting Church Complex, and the Lutheran Church will have an “Open House” with floral arrangements and unique displays as well as a variety of craft for sale.
The Laidley Anglican Church will also hold its annual Spring Fair on Saturday the 11th and provide old-fashioned family fun in the grounds of St Saviour’s.
The Laidley Pioneer Village will be open for the duration of the festival and will be a pick up and drop off point for the shuttle bus.
The shuttle bus will be operating for the duration of the festival from Thursday the 9th to Saturday the 11th departing the cultural centre every 20 minutes from 9am and 2pm on Thursday and Friday and from 9am until 4.40pm on Saturday (excluding while the parade is on).
