LVRC has announced the winners of the 2010 Lockyer Valley Garden Competition run in conjuntion with the Laidley Spring Festival.
The winners are as follows:
Grand Champion
Wayne and Val Lawson, 77 Blenheim Road, Blenheim
Sitting on the top of a small hill at Blenheim is the beautifully landscaped garden of Wayne & Val Lawson of 77 Blenheim Road.
The couple’s garden is only three years old but looks like it has been lovingly tendered for many years.
The garden has been well landscaped with several different levels taking advantage of the undulating site. The panoramic views from the gardens surrounding the house make it something special indeed.
The gardens features many paved areas with an ideally positioned gazebo to enjoy wonderful summer afternoons. Carefully pruned hedges feature strongly throughout giving strong clean lines as backdrops to the colourful beds of a variety of perennials as well as annuals.
A special feature is the fern house in the back garden which has been created using rock walls for cooling adding to the visual impact. The fern house was constructed attached to a purpose-built garden shed made form old timber to resemble an old country barn – and it looks just fabulous!
This garden is definitely a must see for all.
