Lockyer Valley Libraries will soon be home to the latest in cutting edge technology, with self-service tablets available from Wednesday 2 December.

Offering an enhanced library experience for the whole community to enjoy, the fresh look ‘Hublets’ allow customers to enjoy a full online experience in the comfort of our libraries.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Community Services Portfolio Councillor, Michal Hagan said the tablets were an innovative way to link the entire community with vital digital resources.

“We’re continually seeking ways to improve customer enjoyment at our libraries, and we are thrilled to now offer self-service tablets,” Councillor Hagan said.

“Offering these services to the community means we are helping to eliminate the disadvantages those without access to vital digital services experience.

“With easy access to e-Library resources, websites and online movies – patrons can relax knowing they are safe to do their banking, emailing, fill out employment applications, complete educational courses or browse their social media accounts.

“All tablets are digitally wiped at the end of each use, meaning the community can safely access the latest technologies knowing their privacy will be maintained.”
