Make a difference on Clean Up Australia Day
Sunday 5 March is Clean Up Australia Day and Lockyer Valley Regional Council is encouraging residents and community groups to register now!
Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s Parks and Gardens Portfolio Councillor, Janice Holstein said anyone interested in this worthwhile event could register their attendance online.
“What better way to teach our younger generation about the importance of our environmental impact and keeping the bush and waterways clean for native wildlife.
“We are fortunate enough to live in one of the most iconic agricultural regions in Australia, so it is vital we all play our role and keep it clean.
“The day is a great initiative for families in the region and provides an opportunity for our children to volunteer.
“Why not play your part in making a more sustainable future for the Lockyer Valley?
“Show your pride in our region and get involved – I look forward to seeing you participating on the day.
“If you can spare some time, please register and support this worthy community event – the more sites we can register, the better,” Cr Holstein said.
Those participating in Clean Up Australia Day are encouraged to be sun safe and be mindful of sharps and sharp objects.
