Council Meeting
The next Ordinary Meeting of Lockyer Valley Regional Council will be held on Wednesday, 20 May 2026 at the Council Chambers, Gatton commencing at 9am.

Council to close part of William Kemp RV Park
Following concerns raised by Gatton Kindy with the inappropriate behaviour and proximity of some campers in William Kemp RV Park, Council has created an exclusion buffer zone closest to the Kindy.
The area affected is the southern end of the RV park – being the area adjacent to the current solid fence and laneway.
The closure is necessary to mitigate potential risks to children, staff, and the wider community and to support a safe and appropriate operational environment adjacent to the kindergarten site.
Campers in that area will need to relocate to other parts of the park, or to other appropriate parks/towns if they choose. Council will install a temporary construction fence to mark the exclusion zone, which is expected to be in place for up to six months.
Council continues to liaise with Gatton Kindy and the local Police to ensure the safety of Gatton Kindy children, their families, and staff, without displacing homeless people in the general area.
Council to transition away from EWN
Council will no longer be supporting the Early Warning Network (EWN) service from Friday, 31 July 2026.
Since 2011, the EWN has delivered a great service to more than 4000 subscribers across our region, with Council covering the costs for all subscriptions.
To ensure the community receives high quality time-sensitive notifications for severe weather, Council is encouraging EWN subscribers to download the BOM Weather app, before 31 July 2026.
EWN sources its information from BOM, so the main change is the app Council recommends the community uses.
The BOM Weather App allows users to select up to three different locations to receive weather alerts, providing better coverage and is at no cost to Council or the community.
To download the BOM Weather app visit Council’s Disaster Dashboard and click the ‘Weather Alert Notifications’ tab disaster.lvrc.qld.gov.au. Alternatively, you can visit www.bom.gov.au/bom-weather-app.

National Simultaneous Storytime!
Later this month we're joining libraries and schools nationwide to read 'Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller' by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd. Last year, more than 2.3 million children took part at over 20,000 locations!
This special Storytime features songs, games, rhymes and plenty of fun.
