July Council Meeting

The next Ordinary Meeting of Lockyer Valley Regional Council will be held on Wednesday, 15 July 2026 at the Council Chambers commencing at 9am.

The community is always welcome to come along and observe the discussions and decisions.

Special Council Meeting

Lockyer Valley Regional Council will hand down its 2026-27 Budget at a Special Meeting of Council on Monday 20 July, commencing at 9am in the Council Chambers, Gatton.

Members of the public are welcome to attend, noting seating is limited. Please arrive by 8.50am.

Have your say on the future of the Lockyer Valley

Council is preparing a Growth Management Strategy to guide how the region may change and grow between now and 2046.

Your local knowledge is important, and we want to know where you think new homes and jobs should go, and what parts of your town should stay the same.

4BC interview success

Council’s Tourism team recently hosted storyteller Karen Hanna Miller, resulting in a live on-location interview from 4BC Afternoons promoting the region’s tourism experiences, attractions and events. Karen has more than 30 years’ experience shaping high-profile cultural, tourism, media, event and destination experiences across Queensland and Australia.

The segment featured Liquidus Distillery, Grumpy’s Diner, Laidley Pioneer Village, Forest Hill and Valhalla Glamping, providing valuable exposure to a statewide audience and strengthening awareness of the Lockyer Valley as a visitor destination.

Building highlights

• As of 31 May, 164 building-related customer requests, including compliance cases, have been completed for the 2026 calendar year.
• An average of 16 new customer requests per month have been received over the past three months.
• As of 31 May, 55 building record searches have been completed for the 2026 calendar year.

Footpath complete

Footpath missing links and drainage upgrades at Jones Road, Withcott are now complete.

Funded by the Australian Government’s Active Transport Fund (ATF), Council officers and contractors constructed a footpath between Parkridge Drive to Shorelands Drive, providing a continuous walking path towards Toowoomba Connection Road to access the local shops, businesses and open spaces.
