Celebrate all cultures

The Lockyer Valley Festival of Cultures is making a return for 2026 and preparations for the event are gearing up.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said thanks to a successful grant from the Queensland Government, the event would make a return on Sunday 9 August.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Queensland Government for this funding boost, which has enabled us to again deliver this popular event.

“We really want to come together, connect, and create a safe and welcoming space for all the different cultural backgrounds that call our region home.

“Our multicultural identity is one of the things that makes our region so special, so let’s celebrate it through food, cultures, and experiences.

“The first event was incredibly well supported and we’re looking forward to transforming the Gatton Shire Hall into a hub of live performances, multicultural food and hands-on workshops designed to celebrate the region’s diversity.

“The day will be filled with vibrant performances, delicious international food, and family-friendly activities, so don’t miss this wonderful community event.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have so many different cultural backgrounds that call our region home,” Mayor Milligan said.

Council will hold the Festival of Cultures on Sunday, 9 August from 11am – 4pm at the Gatton Shire Hall.

The event is supported by the Queensland Government through the Celebrating Multicultural Queensland program.
