Notification of Works – Fairways Park Stage 1 – Lot 902, Fairway Drive, Kensington Grove​

Lockyer Valley Regional Council recently received funding support from the Australian and Queensland Governments to construct a new recreational park at Lot 902, Fairway Drive, Kensington Grove.  Fairways Park will be inclusive of all abilities, support family and community gatherings, offer exciting experiences for children and, in time, encourage growth of local sports.

The construction of Fairways Park Stage 1 is programmed to start at the end of October 2020, with works to be completed by July 2021, weather permitting.

Stage 1 of the project involves the construction of innovative playground facilities with multiple elements, a learn to ride course with imitation road signage, picnic facilities including shelters and barbeques, public amenities, formal and informal paths/footpaths, dog park and more.

Due to the size of this project, it is expected there will be an increase in dust and noise during the construction period.  All measures will be taken to reduce this as much as possible. Appropriate environmental management will also be in place to protect and preserve wildlife.

Construction signage will be present to ensure the safety of workers and the public.  Due to the increase of traffic during the construction period, a reduction of speed limits will be considered as part of the Traffic Management Plan.  Please adhere to roadwork signage, detours and any instructions issued.

​Notification of Construction Works – Beutels Road, Mt Whitestone​

Lockyer Valley Regional Council would like to advise that the upgrading of Beutels Road, Mt
Whitestone is programmed to commence on Wednesday 24 February 2021, weather permitting.
The works involve widening the existing road formation, road base placement and bitumen sealing.

To facilitate these works Beutels Road will be reduced to one lane during the entire project. For the
safety of road users and our onsite personnel, traffic management signage and controls will be in
place for the duration of the project.

Works will generally be carried out Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 4.00pm

Council anticipates that the project will take approximately two weeks. Access for affected
property owners adjacent to the works will be available throughout the construction period.

Notification of Construction Works – Laidley Recreation Reserve Entrance Upgrade​

Lockyer Valley Regional Council would like to advise that the upgrading of Whites Road, Laidley
from Patrick Street into the Laidley Recreational Reserve is programmed to commence on Tuesday
16th February 2021, weather permitting. The works involve widening the existing road formation
and drainage works to facilitate additional carparking at the Laidley Recreation Reserve.

To facilitate these works Whites Road will be reduced to one lane during work hours. For the safety
of road users and our onsite personnel, traffic management signage and controls will be in place
for the duration of the project. Additional carpark area will be provided during the project in lieu of
areas under construction, refer to the picture attached.

Works will generally be carried out Tuesday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm

Council anticipates that the project will take approximately 5 weeks. Access to the Laidley
Recreation Reserve, Ferarri Park and Anzac Park will be available throughout the construction
period.

Notification of Construction Works – William Street, Gatton - Footpath Works​

Lockyer Valley Regional Council would like to advise that footpath construction works on William
Street, Gatton are anticipated to commence on Monday 15 February 2021, and are expected to
take approximately 4 weeks to complete weather pending.

The project involves the construction of a new 280 metre concrete footpath on the western side of
William Street, from Smith Street to Cochrane Street.

Work will generally be performed between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Construction signage and site delineations will be set up daily during the construction period. Part
road closures are possible however affected properties will be notified in advance and traffic
management will be in place. These measures are to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
Please adhere to roadwork signage, detours and any instructions issued by Council employees or
the on-site contractor.

Notification of Construction Works – Cochrane Street, Gatton - Footpath Works

Lockyer Valley Regional Council would like to advise that footpath construction works on Cochrane Street, Gatton are anticipated to commence on Monday 15 February 2021, and are expected to take approximately 4 weeks to complete weather pending.

The project involves constructing a new 40 metre concrete footpath on the northern side of Cochrane Street, from Hood Street and joining to an existing footpath in front of the Lockyer Valley Early Education Centre. The ramps and driveway to Lockyer Valley Early Education Centre will also be upgraded.

Work will generally be performed between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. However, work to Lockyer Valley Early Education Centre driveway will be undertaken on the weekend to minimise disruption.

Construction signage and site delineations will be set up daily during the construction period. Part road closures are possible however affected properties will be notified in advance and traffic management will be in place. These measures are to ensure the safety of workers and the public. Please adhere to roadwork signage, detours and any instructions issued by Council employees or the on-site contractor.

Notification of Construction Works – Cran Bridge Rehabilitation, Stockyard Creek Road, Flagstone Creek


Lockyer Valley Regional Council would like to advise that the rehabilitation of Cran Bridge on
Stockyard Creek Road, Flagstone Creek is programmed to commence on Monday 1 February 2021,​
weather permitting. Works include the removal of the existing timber bridge structure,
replacement of timber components, asphalt deck wearing and guardrail installation.

To facilitate these works a road closure at Cran Bridge on Stockyard Creek Road will be in place 24
hours a day, 7 days a week for approximately a two-week duration. For the safety of road users
and our onsite personnel, traffic detour signage will be in place for the duration of the project.

Works on site will generally be carried out Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm.

Council anticipates that the project will take approximately 2 weeks. Access for affected property
owners adjacent to the works will be available via a detour on Mt Campbell Road.

​Notification of Construction Works - Spa Water Road, Iredale​

Lockyer Valley Regional Council would like to advise that the upgrading of Spa Water Road, Iredale

between Gierkes Road and Herrons Road is programmed to commence on Monday 18 January

2021, weather permitting. The works will involve widening the existing road formation and

drainage works.

To facilitate these works Spa Water Road will be reduced to one lane during the entire project. For

the safety of road users and our onsite personnel, traffic management signage and controls will be

in place for the duration of the project.

Works will generally be carried out Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 4.00pm Council anticipates that the project will take approximately 8 weeks. Access for affected property

owners adjacent to the works will be available throughout the construction period.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council would like to advise that the upgrading of Lake Clarendon Way, Lake Clarendon between Main Green Swap Road and Lester Road is programmed to commence on Tuesday 12 January 2021, weather permitting. The works will involve widening the existing road formation and drainage works.

To facilitate these works Lake Clarendon Way will be reduced to one lane during working hours. For the safety of road users and our onsite personnel, traffic management signage and controls will be in place for the duration of the project.

Works will generally be carried out Tuesday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm

Council anticipates that the project will take approximately 8 weeks. Access for affected property owners adjacent to the works will be available throughout the construction period.

​Notification of Construction Works - Amos Road, Withcott

Lockyer Valley Regional Council would like to advise that the upgrading of Amos Road, Withcott is programmed to commence on Monday 7 September 2020, weather permitting. To facilitate these works Amos Road will be closed from Jones Road. Council anticipates that the closure will be for approximately 10 weeks. Access under controlled conditions will be available for affected property owners adjacent to the works.

Works will generally be carried out Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 4.00pm

Notification of Construction Works - Woodlands Road, Gatton

Lockyer Valley Regional Council would like to advise that the construction of road widening on Woodlands Road, Gatton between Edwards Road and Schroeders Road is scheduled to commence early July 2020. The project involves earthworks, drainage, road pavement widening and bitumen sealing.

For the safety of road users and our onsite personnel, traffic management signage and controls will be in place for the duration of the project.

Works will generally be carried out Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm

​​Gatton Shire Hall - Upgrade works

PROJECT LOCATION: Gatton Shire Hall, 52 North Street, Gatton

PROJECT OVERVIEW: ​
Gatton Shire Hall will undergo upgrade works to ensure the facility meets community needs and expectations well into the future using a combination of funding from Federal and State Governments and a contribution from Council.

Federal Government Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) component:
(Funding - $439,350 ex GST and Council - $439,350 ex GST)

Contractor parking will be to the area adjacent to the green space (old Squash Courts site) to minimise interruption to any car parking in the main streets.

SIGNAGE: One (1) project sign and three (3) funding acknowledgement signs will be installed at the venue prior to works starting.

FAQs: 
Q: Who is the successful contractor that will be undertaking the upgrade works?
A: The successful contractor is McNab Developments (QLD) Pty Ltd.  McNab have significant experience with similar projects of this scale and will engage local contractors where possible for elevant parts of the project. 

Q: When will renovations commence?
A: On 27 January 2021, after the Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony has been held at the venue on 26 January 2021.

Q: How long will the renovations take to be completed?
A: It is anticipated works will be completed and the venue re-opened in 
September 2021. This timeframe allows for any additional works which may occur due to savings obtained throughout the project. If completion occurs earlier, the hall will be reopened for use as soon as practical. 

Q: What are the disruptions to ​the public?
A: Gatton Shire Hall will be unavailable to book for the duration of the works. Availability of off-street parking adjacent to the Hall will be reduced by approximately 10 bays which are part of the construction zone. Some off-street roadways may be disrupted from time to time with appropriate signage displayed with as much notice as possible, but sometimes that may be very limited.

Q: Can we still hold an event in Centenary Park?
A: Yes, the public are still able to hold events in the Centenary Park but need to be made aware of the works happening at the Gatton Shire Hall and possible construction noise. 

Q: What are the positive impacts of this work?
A:
  • Local cafés & shops will benefit from contractor’s expenditure throughout the construction period. 
  • A renovated hall for community use upon completion. 
  • Increased revenue for local contractors and suppliers who are engaged for services by the Principal Contractor.
  • A $2.08M project only costing Council (and therefore ratepayers) $0.527M.
  • A major community venue that will meet local requirements for many years.​
