​​​Skateboard Competition


The 2019 skate competition is already attracting competitors from as far as Byron Bay and the Sunshine Coast and offers a prize pool of $1,000. Winners qualify for the State Titles in Mackay (Rumble on the Reef).  ​​

The venue has limited seating and shade. Feel free to BYO camp chair, and warm clothes for Friday night and sunsmart​​ gear for Saturday. 

We have a range of food and drink vendors onsite.

Holiday Programs

A number of services work closely with Council to offer a range of free school holiday programs. Holiday programs are primarily promoted on Council's Facebook the Lockyer Valley Youth FacebookLuvyalockyer What's On website, and are distributed to schools for inclusion in their newsletters.

The range of holiday programs may include: 

  • Skateboard, scooter and parkour workshops (clinics) and competitions
  • Family-friendly Dive-In (pool) Movies and Indoor Movies
  • Youth-only Dive-In Movies
  • Craft and games-based programs organised by Anglicare and local Community Centres
  • Computer, robotics, Lego and craft activities organised by Lockyer Valley Libraries 
  • Adventure-based games and challenges (eg​, high ropes courses with Laidley District State School)​

Council provides a range of programs for the Region's young people and children, and is interested in hearing from young people about matters of importance to them.

Youth Programs vary from time to time and may include:

  • youth forums
  • leadership development opportunities
  • surveys
  • projects such as skatepark​​ upgrades
