Land for Wildlife

The Land for Wildlife (LfW) program was initiated in Victoria in 1981 and has expanded across Australia.

The Lockyer Valley Regional Council supports the LfW program in the Lockyer Valley. The LfW program aims to supports landholders with managing their properties for multiple benefits, including managing pests and weeds and the conservation of local flora and fauna.

The Lockyer Valley Regional Council supports the LfW program through employing a Land for Wildlife Officer. This LfW Officer supports LfW landholders and facilitates the extension of additional council LfW support programs such as the LfW Free Native Plant Program, field days and workshops as well as the LfW Landholder Assistance Program.

Further information about the LfW program in South East Queensland can be accessed through the SEQ LfW website and Facebook pages:
