Slashing and Mowing

Generally mowing and slashing is concentrated in the October to May time period depending on seasonal factors and available resources. Council maintains council owned road intersections and other locations where visibility is limited to the point where traffic safety might be compromised.

One to two slasher cutting widths is undertaken on rural sealed roads where possible. Council will at times slash some unsealed roads dependent on traffic volumes, particality and road safety. Slashing adjacent to bus stop hardstands and long established bus stop location will also occur where physically possible. Ungravelled roads and unused road reserves are not slashed by Council.

The mowing of footpaths is the responsibility of the property owners adjacent to the footpath.

Council’s parks are mowed on a regular basis programmed accordingly to the season.

If urgent slashing or mowing is required, please complete an request via Online Services or contact us on 1300 005 872.
