Asbestos is only accepted at the Gatton Waste Facility and must be correctly managed on arrival.

Transport and safe handling of asbestos | All asbestos must be wet, double wrapped in 0.2mm thick plastic, taped and labelled (ie. contains asbestos). No punctures to plastic wrapping accepted. All asbestos is to be manually handled or by Hiab crane or hoist into the bulk asbestos bin provided. Waste Transport Certificates: must be completed prior to disposal. This can be completed by weighbridge operators if the transport certificate is not available a copy will be provided to the customer. All registered operators must supply their own completed Waste Transport Certificate on entry to the Gatton Waste Facility. | |
Volumes accepted | The volume of asbestos accepted at the Gatton Waste Facility is limited to 250kg or less per transaction and limited to one transaction per day. | |

Asbestos must be transported and manually handled in accordance with the methods stated above. Asbestos outside the Lockyer Valley Region is not accepted. Asbestos may only be taken to the Gatton Waste Facility between 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday **Note Council does not supply assistance to offload asbestos waste. Asbestos should be wrapped to a size that allows manual handling. |
