Park upgrades complete for Murphys Creek
After some time in the making, Murphys Creek now has an upgraded playground to enjoy after Council recently put the finishing touches on this exciting project.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s Parks and Gardens Portfolio Councillor, Janice Holstein said the facility would ensure plenty of fun for the region’s families.
“The facility boasts a multi deck playground structure with orb clusters and free-standing panels, all of which cater for all ages and varied abilities.
“The playground fort features 18 play items which target balance and core strength, upper body strength, agility, flexibility and cognitive development, all of which are encouraged through risk and reward play.
“A step crossing has been added for balance development and a monkey bar for upper body strength building.
“Multiple cognitive panels have been used throughout the footprint including a clock panel, kaleidoscope panel, observation panel, shop counter, naughts and crosses and counting panel all to encourage social, imagination and interactive play.
“This is an exciting upgrade for the family park in Murphys Creek and one that will continue to provide families with a wonderful area to enjoy.
“Providing brand-new playground equipment for Murphys Creek was important to both the local community and our Council, and we are thrilled with finished product,” Cr Holstein said.
