Lake Apex Entrance Carpark works to begin
Council’s infrastructure crews plan to commence works at the Lake Apex Entrance Carpark on Monday 19 May.
The works will be held over a 10-week period (weather permitting) and will see extensive upgrades to future-proof this vital community asset, including widening the existing road, constructing a formalised off-street parking and a safe turnaround area at the end of the road upgrading drains, installing compliant pathways and new signs and pavement markings.
We thank the community for its patience and understanding throughout the construction process.
Upcoming Council Meeting
The next Ordinary Meeting of Lockyer Valley Regional Council will be held on Wednesday, 21 May 2025 at the Council Chambers commencing at 9am.
Fee changes for Queensland Transport Museum (QTM)
Council has endorsed a fee increase for visitors to the region who pop by the QTM– but it’s all for a good cause.
At the April Council Meeting, Councillors gave the green light to a small fee increase, with the extra funds to be donated to a local veterans’ association, Bootstraps, which offers leatherwork classes to assist with mental or physical injury recovery during service with the Australian Defence Force.
Fees for visitors have increased by $2 per ticket, and are now:
• Adult - $10
• Concession (including serving military personnel) - $8
• Children 6-15 - $5
• Children under 6 - FREE
• Family (2 adults and up to 3 children) - $27
The entry fees for the QTM have remained unchanged since 2019. The free local entry will remain unchanged.

- Senior Business Systems Officer (Full Time, Permanent)
- Plumbing Inspector (Full Time, Permanent)

National Simultaneous Storytime
Come along to the Gatton Library later this month for National Simultaneous Storytime!
We're joining libraries and schools nationwide to read The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel, with the special Storytime to also feature songs, games, rhymes and plenty of fun.
Last year we joined over 2.3 million children reading the same book at the same time at more than 20,000 locations!
