Bitumen reseal program complete

We’ve brought 42 roads back to life thanks to the 2024-25 Bitumen Reseal Program.

Our road crews have resealed a whopping 230,000m2 of existing road pavement as part of the program, helping to extend the lifespan of the road network, improve driving conditions and make them more resistant to weather-related damage.

Line markings will follow soon.

The Bitumen Reseal Program is jointly funded by Council and the Australian Government through the Roads to Recovery Program.

Change to caravan laws

Council has changed its local laws to allow short-term residential use of caravans to assist those struggling to secure housing.

The changes allow landowners to let family or friends reside in a caravan on their property for up to six months in a 12-month period without the need for Council approval.

Restrictions, such as adhering to specific setbacks and not disposing of grey water on-site, have been put in place to protect neighbourhood amenity and wellbeing.

The amendments will be in effect until 31 December 2027.

Recycle your Nespresso Pods

If you're a Nespresso capsule user, drop your pods, recycling bags or Australia Post recycling satchels into one of Council's collection points at the Gatton and Laidley Libraries and we’ll send them back to Nespresso to be recycled for you.

As Nespresso capsules are made from aluminium, they're infinitely recyclable.
