Get your green spaces ready for Spring Festival’s Open Gardens

We might be heading into winter; however, planning is already well underway for the Laidley Spring Festival's Open Gardens.

Open to Lockyer Valley residents, Open Gardens not only brings people together, but celebrates neighbourhood pride and contributes to a more biodiverse and sustainable region.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said registrations were now open, ahead of the 30 June deadline.

“Gardening is an act of care, creativity and community spirit.

“It’s about fostering local pride, creativity and building connections within our community,” she said.

Mayor Milligan encouraged the region’s gardeners to register and help make the Lockyer Valley burst with colour this spring and welcome visitors to the region during the Laidley Spring Festival.

“Open Garden participants don’t need a big garden or a lot of experience, just passion and a bit of imagination.

“Every garden has its own unique story, and we want to celebrate the people, passion and petals that make the Valley so special.

“If this is you, please put your hand up to open your garden and showcase your gardening zeal to those who share your joy.

“Council is indebted to the generosity of the garden owners who, after hours of labour, choose to open their gardens,” Mayor Milligan said.

Lockyer Valley Open Gardens will burst with colour from 11–14 September from 8.30am – 4.30pm.
