Digital and social media workshop for community organisations
Are you part of a local community organisation and regularly utilise digital and social media?
It can certainly be a minefield, and that is why Lockyer Valley Regional Council, together with CPR Group, will host the Digital and Social Media Marketing Made Easy Workshop.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s Community Development Portfolio Councillor, Anthony Wilson said this was an excellent opportunity for organisations who want to learn more about how to successfully market their group, and how to use today’s digital tools to get there.
“Digital and social media certainly offers so much for these organisations, including being a cost-effective way to communicate and grow, however, it also comes with potential risks that must be considered.
“This workshop is both free and hands-on and will cover a range of key topics, such as marketing fundamentals, volunteer recruitment, the effective use of social media, and just how to develop actionable marketing strategies.
“Marketing is all about telling a story – one that targets the right people and communicates why your group matters so they join, stay and donate their time, money or knowledge.
“There are many tools that make this easier – such as websites, social media, smartphones and AI, however many organisations still struggle to take the first few steps.
“This will be a fast-paced session, but don’t let that deter you.
“You will leave with a clear framework for consistent communication and the simple steps you can turn into action immediately, fresh content ideas and the confidence to grow your marketing reach.
“If you are part of or know of a not-for-profit organisation that struggles to effectively utilise social media, I would certainly encourage you to consider this workshop,” Cr Wilson said.
