Successful RADF recipients announced
Lockyer Valley Regional Council has announced the successful recipients of Round 2 of the 2024-2025 Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Grant Program.
RADF is a partnership between Lockyer Valley Regional Council and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and has just awarded more than $10,000 in funding from the latest round of RADF submissions.
Council’s Libraries and Galleries Portfolio Councillor, Julie Reck, congratulated the successful applicants.
“We congratulate the successful recipients of the RADF funding and look forward to their projects enhancing the Lockyer Valley community.
“Often we find RADF rounds are undersubscribed, so we have a plan to step up future promotion to ensure we continue to receive a variety of submissions that promote the value of arts, culture and heritage,” Cr Reck said.
The successful projects include:
• Noosa Film Academy - $4667 for Connecting Remote Disabled Lockyer Youth with Video Therapy Digital Storytelling. This project empowers 50 disadvantaged Lockyer youth with disability through video therapy and digital storytelling workshops, culminating in community screenings to foster connection, resilience, and digital career pathways.
• Lockyer Valley Art Society Inc. - $800 for Mini Clay Makers, a project to enhance the imagination and creativity of primary school children in our community by giving them the opportunity to participate in a clay creations workshop.
• AJ Gogas - $1120 for a Somatic Art Workshop, which uses movement, colour, and mixed media to guide participants in intuitive expression, personal discovery, and connection through creative exploration and somatic artmaking.
• Tinker - $3700 for the Forest Hill Bee Happy Day Art Activation, which activates cultural tourism and creative participation at Bee Happy Day by offering free, professional children’s art activities that build creative skills and inspire lifelong engagement with the arts.
“Through these projects, RADF is investing in the development of the skills of our artists and storytellers and providing our residents with more access to arts and cultural experiences.
“If you know an organisation or individual who could bring a project to life with the help of an RADF grant, encourage them to be on the lookout for the next round of funding on Council’s socials and website,” Cr Reck said.
