Get ready for the Festival of Cultures
The Lockyer Valley Festival of Cultures is all about uniting residents from diverse cultural backgrounds through better understanding of each other - and you’re invited to come along.
It will be held on Sunday, 3 August and Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said she looked forward to creating a space to celebrate our shared multicultural spirit.
“The multitude of diversities that make up the Lockyer Valley will be celebrated at this event, and there will be music, dance, food, art and lots of activities to try.
“This is such a valuable opportunity to break down barriers and build understanding across cultures.
“The day will be filled with vibrant performances, delicious international food, and family-friendly activities, so don’t miss this wonderful community event.
“Come along and participate in activities that come from diverse cultural backgrounds, with the greater aim to share, celebrate, participate and connect.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have so many different cultural backgrounds that call our region home,” Mayor Milligan said.
Council will hold the Festival of Cultures on Sunday, 3 August from 11am – 4pm at Littleton Park, Gatton.
The event is organised in a collaborative approach between Council and local cultural groups and organisations and is supported by the Queensland Government through the Celebrating Multicultural Queensland program.
