Major Community Grants initiative open for applications
The doors are now open for Round 1 of Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s Major Community Grants Program for 2025-26.
Council’s Major Community Grants Program is for non-recurrent grants of between $1000 and $4000 and is available for not-for-profit community organisations to undertake projects, activities or events which benefit the wider community.
Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said Council encouraged local not-for-profit organisations, sporting clubs and local community groups to apply for the grants, which officially opened on 15 August.
“This is a great way for us to provide a leg up through financial assistance to those initiatives that focus on inclusion and community development.
“Eligible projects could include any that encourage participation of new people in community wellbeing activities and groups, benefit a wider population than the group’s own membership and help the group be more sustainable.
“As Mayor, I am incredibly proud to support the works of these local groups and encourage applications from those with projects large or small.” Mayor Milligan said.
A total of 15 not-for-profit community organisations were awarded grants for a variety of different projects in the last round of funding, with successful applicants including:

- Forest Hill School of Arts Inc.
- Forest Hill State School P&C
- Gatton Baptist Church
- Gatton Glenore Grove Rifle Club Inc.
- Gatton Pony Club Inc.
- Gatton Table Tennis Association
- Gatton Uniting Church
- Hatton Vale Community Uniting Church
- Helidon RSL Sub-Branch Inc.
- Laidley Agricultural and Industrial Society Inc.
- Lockyer Equestrian Group
- Lockyer Valley Veterans Support Centre
- Ma Ma Creek Church of Christ
- Uniting Church in Australia Laidley
