Lake Dyer’s new amenities block is now complete

Lake Dyer now boasts a brand-new disability compliant amenities building.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council recently put the finishing touches on the upgraded amenities block, made possible thanks to funding secured from the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program Phase 4.

Council’s Infrastructure Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan said the project was all part of Council’s commitment to providing accessible and safe public infrastructure for both residents and visitors to the region.

“The upgraded amenities block is now disability compliant, with five ensuites, ambulant toilets, a storage room and more.

“It also has a disabled compliant toilet with a fold down baby change table, along with a disability compliant ensuite and a laundry with two sinks.

“The building also features a large disability compliant ramp, as well as two entry and exit points at the front of the building to offer access requirements to all users.

“We also installed a solar-powered floodlight in the car park at the front of the building, as well as new sensor lights for improved visibility after-dark.

“We want this to work on a functional level and be a longstanding community facility,” he said.

Cr Hagan said the project represents the region’s growth, as well as Council’s commitment to providing services and facilities that meets our growing community.

“Along with the new building we have added landscaping and a path that creates an accessible connection to the car park.

“The project is part of Council’s long-term vision to enhance public spaces across the region and encourage healthy, outdoor lifestyles,” he said.

The upgraded amenities block is now open for public use.
