See the beauty of nature at Lockyer Valley Art Gallery

The natural world is a beautiful thing – full of power and awe – and it’s now taking centre stage at the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery.
Titled Nature’s Canvas, the exhibition bringstogether works from three Somerset artists: wildlife artist, Marita Reynolds; artist and retired veterinarian, Karen Leahy; and botanical illustrator, Cassandra Hodgins.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Libraries and Galleries Portfolio Councillor, Julie Reck said the exhibition is an invitation to visitors to reflect on both the power and wonder of nature.
“Through paintings and drawings of various mediums, these artists share a special interest in preserving and protecting the natural environment.
“Each artist brings their own unique style and message to their works, through their dedication to nature and their experiences.
“Nature’s Canvas looks to put a spotlight on the diverse range of flora and fauna living in our environment.
“The artists also hope to inspire visitors to appreciate and conserve the species that are living in our own backyards.
“My hope is visitors to this exhibition not only see this as an opportunity to celebrate nature’s beauty, but also as a call to action to play their role in preserving the environment for future generations,” Cr Reck said.
Nature’s Canvas by the Nature’s Canvas Groupis on at the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery until 30 November with free entry.
