Christmas fun at Lockyer Valley Libraries these school holidays

Bookings are now open for Lockyer Valley Libraries’ school holiday schedule, so make sure you check out what’s on offer and secure your place now!

Summer entertainment includes:

• Scavenger Hunt: Gatton and Laidley Libraries from Monday 8 December to Saturday 24 January (excluding Christmas closure), all day. Test your sleuthing skills! Go on a scavenger hunt and see if you can crack the code.
• Christmas Craft: Gatton and Laidley Libraries from Monday 15 December to Wednesday 24 December, all day. Get crafty in the library and keep the kids entertained in the lead up to Christmas. Pop into the library to make a Christmas craft to take home and spread festive cheer. This activity is self-guided, parental supervision is required. Available all day until stock runs out.
• Christmas Movie and Grinch Decoration: Gatton and Laidley Libraries on Friday 19 December, 10.30am. Enjoy a Christmas movie on the big screen and make a Grinch decoration.
• Family Movie: Gatton and Laidley Libraries, Friday 9, 16 and 23 January 2025, 10am. Bring the family along to a free movie at the library. Bring your own snacks and enjoy a flick on the big screen.
• Paper Plane Fun: Gatton Library, Wednesday 14 January, all day. Do you love paper aeroplanes and friendly competition? Can you hit a target, throw your paper plane through a hoop or land it on the runway? Challenge your friends and unleash your creative engineering skills. This activity is self-guided, parental supervision is required. Available all day until stock runs out.
• Board Game Day: Gatton Library, Thursday 15 January, all day. Join us for a fun board game day, discover a new favourite or rediscover an old one. All ages are welcome for family fun. This activity is self-guided, parental supervision is required.
• LEGO Challenge: Rescue Charlotte’s Web. Gatton Library, Wednesday 7 January, 10am and Laidley Library, Thursday 15 January, 10am.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Libraries and Galleries Portfolio Councillor Julie Reck said there was Christmas fun available for all ages.

“There is something for everyone, perfect for families and children looking for educational and entertaining experiences these school holidays.

“Be it science activities, movies or craft, our team has a comprehensive list of events on offer to keep you busy and out of the heat this summer break,” she said.
