Local youth encouraged to have a say
We’re giving our region’s youth the chance to guide Council’s priorities!
If you’re aged between 12 and 17, we want you to have your say on the Lockyer Valley Youth Survey and tell us what matters to you.
Council’s Community Engagement Portfolio Councillor Anthony Wilson said your voice would help Council plan programs and events relevant to you.
“We want to better understand this important demographic and by engaging with them directly, we can better design activities that are relevant and appealing to them,” Cr Wilson said.
The survey seeks a range of information, including hobbies and interests; life‑skills and topics youth are interested in; preferred times/days for events; interest levels across different program types (creative arts, sport/fitness, tech/gaming, leadership, etc.); location and how they hear about events.
“The results will direct the planning of future youth programs and events Council may run or partner on, as well as influence Council’s 2026-2027 budget proposal for youth initiatives.
“This is the first time we’ve conducted a youth survey of this nature and we’re hoping for as much engagement as possible so we can support our young people to the best of our ability.
“Let’s make the Lockyer Valley an even better place to live, connect and thrive for every young person,” Cr Wilson said.
