More footpaths set for Fairway Drive

The next component of the Fairway Drive footpath project will soon get underway, with works set to commence later this month.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s Infrastructure Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan said the upgrades were made possible thanks to funding from the Australian Government’s Active Transport Fund.

“We’re set to begin construction of around 470 metres of walkway along Fairway Drive, Hatton Vale, between Scott Place and Lowien Close, improving connectivity, safety and accessibility in the area.

“Minor traffic impacts may occur when works are being undertaken to the pram ramps and kerb.

“Weather permitting, this project is expected to be completed by mid-April.

“We’re committed to making our public spaces more pedestrian-friendly, and this funding boost will see this popular area become safer and more connected.

“We have no doubt the community will benefit greatly from these works,” Cr Hagan said.

This project was proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s South East Queensland Community Stimulus Package (SEQCSP) and the Australian Government’s Active Transport Fund (ATF).
