RADF recipients share in $26k of funding

Five local creative projects will share in a cash injection of more than $26,000, following the announcement of the latest round of Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Grants.

Council’s Libraries and Galleries Portfolio Councillor, Julie Reck said this round of RADF would fund a variety of projects.

“We’re proud to lend a helping hand to see these projects realised.

“RADF is all about providing funding at a grass roots level, and that is why the committee selected five projects that we feel will have the most benefit to the local community.

“We congratulate the successful recipients of the RADF funding and look forward to their projects enhancing the Lockyer Valley community.

“It was wonderful to see such strong interest in this round of RADF, and I encourage all unsuccessful recipients to throw their hat in the ring next time,” Cr Reck said.

The successful projects include:

• Neil Moorhead - $5498 for Mapplethorpesque - Creative Development - a studio based photographic project using sculptural lighting and symbolic objects to deepen technical skill and refine the expressive power of visual language.
• Tracey Schaeper - $2304 for Creative Craft Classes for Beginners – an opportunity to create beautiful crafts using simple wirework and painting techniques. Learn basic jewellery skills and painting projects to take home in a relaxed, supportive beginner‑friendly class.
• ImmersionArts - $1350 for Watercolour/Gouache Immersion:Nature, Mindfulness and Creative Confidence, full day, local landscape watercolour/gouache workshop in Gatton that blends artistic skill-building with mindful, sensory-based creative practice. Participants will explore local landscapes and learn foundational artistic techniques.
• Lockyer Community Centre - $11,450 for Voices of the Valley - foster intercultural understanding and celebrate identity by showcasing diverse cultural voices from across the region through short-form digital stories.
• Noosa Film Academy - $6000 for Every Age, Every Voice: Inclusive Intergenerational Digital Storytelling and Community Celebration - inclusive, intergenerational arts participation for special needs youth and seniors, culminating in a community celebration strengthening creative expression, social connection, and community participation across Lockyer Valley.

“Any organisations or individuals looking to bring a project to life should be on the lookout for the next round of funding on Council’s socials and website,” Cr Reck said.

RADF is a partnership between Lockyer Valley Regional Council and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
