Culvert replacement earmarked for local road
Lockyer Valley Regional Council will soon begin culvert replacement works on Flagstone Creek Road, Lilydale.
The project is set to begin early April and run for around eight weeks, weather permitting.
Council’s Infrastructure Portfolio Councillor, Michael Hagan thanked the community for its patience as Council begins this important upgrade.
“The existing culvert is in poor condition and requires replacement.
“The new culvert will deliver a value for money outcome which has considered flood resilience, traffic flow and the role of the crossing within the wider needs of the road network.
“The goal has been to see the current, deteriorated asset replaced with a safe, upgraded and compliant to current standards structure.
“We extend our thanks to impacted residents and motorists for their patience as we undertake these works,” Cr Hagan said.
To enable the removal of the existing structure and installation of the new structure this section of roadway will be reduced to one lane. As such minor delays can be expected, with 24-hour traffic lights in place throughout the duration of the project to manage the flow of traffic safely.
