The Queensland Transport Museum’s (QTM) latest exhibition pays tribute to our Anzacs in the lead-up to Anzac Day.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s Tourism Portfolio Councillor, Julie Reck said the QTM’s military transport exhibition features a kid’s activity centre – perfectly timed for the school holidays.
“The activity centre includes an opportunity to write and ‘post’ a letter of gratitude to veterans, as well as other age-appropriate activities.
“The letters are collected by staff and sent to veterans’ groups as a way of highlighting the collective sense of gratitude that comes from our community at this time of year.
“Some recipients include RSLs, Legacy and other Veterans Associations.
“The letters are intended as an indication of respect for their service and sacrifice, and are reminders that courage is never forgotten.
“I would certainly encourage families to come along and visit this exhibition as it really is a great way to show our children just what gratitude and respect means when it comes to Anzac Day,” Cr Reck said.
The QTM will be open 12pm - 4pm on Anzac Day and is located at theLockyer Valley Cultural Centre, 34 Lake Apex Dr, Gatton.
