Art Gallery’s latest exhibition to focus on Anzac Day
Lockyer Valley Regional Council has launched the Gallery’s autumn program, presenting a range of paintings that were inspired by true stories from original sources of the Australian Light Horse.
Light Horse Art by Ron and Jennifer Marshall is now on display, with the exhibition an example of the depth of talent and diversity in the Australian art landscape.
Libraries and Galleries Portfolio Councillor Julie Reck said while the artworks’ setting was war, these paintings truly focused on relationships.
“This exhibition provides an opportunity for the community to really engage with the true meaning of Anzac Day.
“Coupled with the Anzac Day services and marches planned for across the Lockyer Valley, this is also a great way to mark this important day.
“Our Gallery always presents an inspiring and thought-provoking program, which continues to attract both residents and visitors to the region and I’m sure this exhibition will do the same,” Cr Reck said.
Light Horse Art by Ron and Jennifer Marshall will be on display until 21 June.
The Lockyer Valley Art Gallery will be open from 1pm – 4pm on Anzac Day. For more information, contact the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery on 07 5466 3434.
