Council awards $35k to community organisations
Lockyer Valley Regional Council has awarded almost $35,000 to 11 local projects and initiatives spanning the local environment, sport and more.
Council’s Community Grants program provides funding for a wide range of projects and programs being delivered by not-for-profit community organisations.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said the grants program provided crucial support to the region’s organisations and individuals who work tirelessly for the betterment of the community.
“Our successful applicants are all working to deliver more to our community and are worthy recipients of this funding boost.
“As a Council, we are committed to empowering our local organisations who are working to deliver local benefit and encourage participation in our communities.
“We undertake a detailed assessment of each application and award funding based on a range of factors including the level of impact of the project and the ability of the group to make their own contribution to the project.
“A big thanks to all the organisations that have taken the time and effort to submit applications and share the valuable work they are doing in the community.
"These grants represent a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, offer support and make a real difference.
