Theme released for this year’s Laidley Spring Festival Street Parade
Entries are officially open for the 2026 Laidley Spring Festival’s Grand Street Parade and Show ‘n’ Shine.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Events Portfolio Councillor Julie Reck said this year’s Grand Street Parade theme, ‘Country Harvest’ was a nod to the region’s agricultural heritage.
“With the theme of ‘Country Harvest’, we’re paying tribute to what makes the Lockyer Valley tick – our agricultural history and the farmers and producers who make the region what it is.
“We’re encouraging community groups, local businesses and schools to participate.
“Whether your entry is big or small, you can walk, skip, ride, dance, or sing your way down Laidley’s main street.
“Those needing inspiration for their floats or costumes should think farmyard fun, fresh produce, scarecrows, and all things harvest season.
“This year the Laidley Spring Festival will be held on 11-12 September in Laidley and Bee Happy Day on 13 September in Forest Hill, with the Street Parade taking place on Saturday 12 September.
“We would love to see as many businesses, community groups and schools as possible get involved in the Street Parade – and given this year’s theme, we’re also hoping our farming community will jump onboard.
“Every year, we watch Patrick Street come alive with vibrant, colourful floats, incredible costumes and an amazing energy.
“Thousands of spectators witness community pride and creativity at its best, and this year promises a fitting celebration,” Cr Reck said.
Vehicle enthusiasts are also encouraged to register for this year’s Laidley Spring Festival’s Show ‘n’ Shine.
“Be it cars, bikes or anything else with wheels, get your pride and joy out of the garage and bring it along.
“Vintage and contemporary vehicles will be on full display, so mark the date in your diary now and don’t miss out on your chance to enjoy a great range of vehicles.
“With 12 vehicle categories in total, including motorbikes, classics, customs, hot rods and more, there is sure to be a category for everyone,” Cr Reck said.
The Laidley Spring Festival’s Show ‘n’ Shine will be held on Saturday 12 September from 9am – 1pm at Ferrari Park, Laidley. Entry is by donation, with all funds raised going to TOMNET (The Older Men's Network) Lockyer Valley.
Registrations for the Show ‘n’ Shine and Street Parade can be made on the Laidley Spring Festival website at www.laidleyspringfestival.com/get-involved.
