Turn the page at Council’s Book Exchange
Have you ever experienced a library within a library? At Lockyer Valley Libraries - you can!
Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s Libraries and Galleries Portfolio Councillor Julie Reck said residents could now utilise a Book Exchange, located inside the Gatton and Laidley Libraries.
“The books on the Book Exchange shelves are free for you to take home and read, and the exchange works by swapping one of you own books for one of the titles available.
“To keep the exchange going, just swap or exchange the book on the day you utilise the service, or the next day you visit the library.
“This is a fantastic way for the local community to give books they have purchased or been gifted themselves a new lease of life for someone else to enjoy.
“We accept all kinds of books, including fiction, non-fiction, academic and children’s ones, as well as multilingual titles.
“You never know - one person’s old book can be another person’s new adventure,” Cr Reck said.
