Council appoints Nick Hauser as Chief Executive Officer
Lockyer Valley Regional Council has formally appointed Nick Hauser as its new Chief Executive Officer from Tuesday 6 October, following a resolution of Council at today's Ordinary Meeting.
Mayor Tanya Milligan said Mr Hauser was well placed to lead Council, bringing more than 20 years of local government experience and a strong understanding of regional communities.
"Nick has the experience, leadership style and local understanding Council was looking for," Mayor Milligan said.
"He grew up in Helidon and Gatton and has strong multi-generational family ties to the Lockyer Valley, so this appointment brings together proven local government leadership and a genuine connection to our region.
"His experience across strategic planning, governance, disaster management, service delivery and organisational leadership makes him exceptionally well placed to lead our organisation into the future."
Mr Hauser said he was honoured to accept the role and looked forward to working with Councillors, staff and the community.
"The Lockyer Valley has played a big part in my life, so this appointment is both a professional privilege and a personal honour,” Mr Hauser said.
“I know the pride people have in this region, and I know how important Council services are to everyday life, from maintaining local roads and managing waste, through to supporting community facilities, growth and disaster preparedness.
“Having spent more than 20 years in local government, I've learned that the strongest outcomes occur when Councillors, staff and the community work together with a shared purpose.
“I'm looking forward to listening, learning and building on the strong foundations already in place across the organisation."
Mr Hauser’s appointment follows the resignation of Scott Greensill in May.
Mayor Milligan said Council had remained stable through the period of leadership change and was now looking forward with confidence.
"We have a strong organisation, a dedicated workforce and a clear direction for the future," she said.
"Nick has the ability and experience to carry out the responsibilities of the position and will have the required delegated authority to effectively do so.
"Council looks forward to working collaboratively with Nick as we continue delivering for the Lockyer Valley community."
