Help make a difference!
Lockyer Valley Regional Council is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to jump on board as Tourism Ambassadors.
Council’s Tourism Portfolio Councillor Julie Reck said the call out was open to anyone interested in sharing their local knowledge.
“Volunteers make an enormous difference in our community.
“They’re often the first face our visitors are greeted with, and their knowledge and passion help create memories for those looking to explore the region.
“Tourism volunteers play an important role across a range of activities, including at events, welcoming visitors, sharing their knowledge of local attractions and the promotion of all the region’s tourism offerings.
“There are so many hidden gems throughout the Lockyer Valley and it’s these volunteers who can make such a difference in visitors coming for the day or choosing to extend their stay in the future.
“Volunteering is also a great way to stay active, meet new people, learn new skills and be part of something meaningful,” Cr Reck said.
As one of our valued volunteer Tourism Ambassadors, you’ll get to:
- Learn more about our beautiful region
- Develop new skills
- Build both professional and social networks
- Work in a creative, fun, and flexible environment
- Give back to the community
- Participate in familiarisation tours that explore our region and visit tourism operators
