Fire permits suspended
The community is advised that the RFSQ Brisbane Valley District, which includes the Somerset/Lockyer and Scenic Rim Chief Fire Warden Districts, has suspended all Permits to Light Fire from 12.01AM SATURDAY 26 SEPTEMBER to 11.59PM FRIDAY 9 OCTOBER.
No Permits to Light Fire will be valid during this period. Fire restrictions can be extended, varied or revoked as conditions change, so it is important residents stay informed by following updates from the Queensland Fire Department and local authorities.

Visit the Junction View Council Pop-Up
Come along to the next Council Pop-Up for 2026 at Junction View Hall on Saturday, 24 October from 5.30pm to 7.30pm (subject to weather).
It’s a great opportunity to meet Councillors and Council staff, and to:
• ask questions
• provide feedback on consultation projects
• stay up to date on Council initiatives.
While you’re there, enjoy a sausage sizzle hosted by the Junction View Hall Committee and an outdoor screening of the movie “The Boss Baby”, commencing at 6.30pm.

Updated Social Media Policy
Councillors adopted the updated Social Media Policy at the September Ordinary Meeting.
The Social Media Policy ensures social media continues to be used in a responsible, professional and secure manner. The Policy guides the management of Council social media accounts and outlines expectations for councillors and employees where social media activity may affect Council.
Updates include stronger governance and security controls, clearer moderation requirements and provisions relating to artificial intelligence.
New road named
Councillors approved the name ‘Keel Court’ for the new road to be created within a rural residential development off Bertrand Avenue, Kensington Grove.
The subdivision of land is located at 23 and 27 Bertrand Avenue, Kensington Grove.
