Maximising Digital Tools for Community Resilience
Local not-for-profit organisations and sporting clubs are invited to discover practical digital tools and strategies that can enhance operations, build capacity and resilience, and create new opportunities for growth at an upcoming workshop.
Titled Maximising Digital Tools for Community Resilience, the workshop offers practical advice to help the Lockyer Valley's not-for-profit community groups and sporting clubs build organisational resilience by reducing administrative workload, strengthening grant readiness, improving governance processes and saving time following local disasters such as Tropical Cyclone Alfred and associated weather impacts.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor Tanya Milligan said technology was changing rapidly, with many organisations looking for practical ways to use digital tools more effectively.
"Technology is moving fast and it can be difficult for community organisations to know which tools are genuinely useful and worth their time.
"This workshop will focus on practical, real-world applications that can help organisations work more efficiently, strengthen governance and improve their resilience.
"Our community organisations and sporting clubs play a critical role in supporting people and creating strong, connected communities.
"Volunteers are at the heart of so many of our community groups, and this workshop will focus on providing practical tools and techniques that can make everyday tasks easier and more efficient.
"This includes how digital tools can support disaster recovery grant applications, impact statements and reporting requirements.
"It’s designed to build confidence and capability in members and enable volunteers to spend less time on paperwork and more time supporting their communities in times of disaster.
"It will also look at how digital tools and emerging technologies can strengthen capacity, improve efficiency and support long-term sustainability for organisations and sporting clubs.
"Building strong, resilient organisations is an important part of ensuring our communities are well prepared to respond to and recover from future challenges.
"Our community groups are made up of dedicated people who contribute enormously to the Lockyer Valley, and this workshop is designed to provide practical support that will help them continue their important work well into the future and better understand the opportunities available to support their organisations," Mayor Milligan said.
