Annual Report showcases Council’s achievements and progress
Lockyer Valley Regional Council has officially adopted its Annual Report 2025-2026.
The statutory document, which outlines Council’s financial and operating achievements from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026, was adopted yesterday at Council’s Ordinary Meeting.
Mayor Tanya Milligan said the Annual Report demonstrates how Council performed against its outcomes and commitments set out in the Corporate Plan 2022-2027.
“Looking back on the 2025-26 year, I am incredibly proud of what we've achieved together as a region,” Mayor Milligan said.
“It was a year of growth and progress, and this Annual Report highlights the many ways Council has worked to support our communities and invest in the future of the Lockyer Valley.
“We have achieved so much – from providing the essential services residents rely on daily to delivering important infrastructure projects, our focus has remained on making the Lockyer Valley an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
“The year saw a number of significant achievements across the region, including the completion of Mahon Bridge at Carpendale, upgrades to several playgrounds, construction of a new amenities block at Lake Dyer, and the introduction of a discounted three-year dog registration to make it easier and more affordable for pet owners.”
Deputy Mayor and Finance Portfolio Councillor Chris Wilson encouraged residents to read the Annual Report to gain a better understanding of Council’s performance and financial position.
“We know many people are interested in how Council spends its money, and the Annual Report provides a clear overview of where rates and other revenue have been invested,” he said.
“The Annual Report contains a Community Financial Report that breaks down Council’s financial statements in plain language and is designed to help residents understand how Council performed financially during the year.
“It provides a summary of Council’s financial position, cash movements and changes in net worth for the 2025-26 financial year, and I am pleased to report that Council remains debt-free and has met or exceeded all key financial sustainability ratios.”
Mayor Milligan said the result demonstrated Council’s commitment to responsible financial management while continuing to deliver services and infrastructure for the community.
“As all councils can attest, rising costs and increasing demand for services continue to present challenges, but we've remained focused on delivering projects and initiatives that provide real value to our community and support our region's growth,” she said.
“This report shows the progress we're making towards our long-term goals and our commitment to being transparent, accountable and responsible in everything we do.
“Most importantly, it reflects the hard work of Council staff and my fellow Councillors. I thank them for their dedication and commitment to serving the people of the Lockyer Valley. Together, we're building a strong, resilient and prosperous future for our region.”
