ChemClear registrations now open
Lockyer Valley property owners can now register their unwanted agricultural and veterinary chemicals in the upcoming Agsafe ChemClear collection.
The program is designed to give Australian agricultural and veterinary chemical users a safe and cost-effective method to dispose of any unused or unwanted chemicals.
Lockyer Valley Deputy Mayor and Portfolio Councillor for Waste, Cr Jason Cook said residents simply needed to register with ChemClear for the free disposal.
This is a vital service to a rural community like ours and this year, Council will once again provide a convenient collection point for those registered in the Lockyer Valley.
Unused or unwanted chemicals just lying about are both an environmental and public health risk.
It is becoming increasingly important we dispose of chemicals in the right manner and this program allows us to do that, Cr Cook said.
Farmers and landholders are encouraged to register their unwanted chemicals online now, before the deadline of 13 June ahead of collection in July and August 2021.
