Register your Australia Day event
How will you be celebrating Australia Day?
Both the Laidley Pioneer Village and Museum and the Gatton and District Historical Society will host Australia Day celebrations from 8am on 26 January with the official Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony to be held at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre at 9am.
As well as the official proceedings, the Lockyer Valley has a number of other activities planned for the day and Mayor Steve Jones has called for businesses and community groups to list these events on the luvyalockyer website.
The plan is to have a complete list of all the events planned in the region for members of the community to access, Mayor Jones said.
The Lockyer Valley is a large area and we would like to see all of the activities advertised on one site so families can find the event nearest to their location.
It would also be great to see a large crowd for the Lockyer Valley Australia Day Awards on the morning of Australia Day.
Come celebrate with this year's award winners at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre before heading back to one of the many events planned in the region.
