Fanatics to contest Skateboarding Championships
The best of the region's skateboarding fanatics will converge on Gatton to contest the Skateboarding Championships next month.
The Championships, part of the Wolves of Street (WOS) series, follows a string of six workshops held at skate parks in the Lockyer Valley earlier this year.
Community and Youth Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan said contestants had the chance to win some top prizes.
We have almost $800 worth of prizes up for grabs, which is a great reason to enter.
This is the Lockyer Valley's only championships for the year and an opportunity not to be missed for local and regional skaters.
Recent WOS contests in Toowoomba and Somerset have drawn competitors from the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, Brisbane, Ipswich and Toowoomba regions so we are anticipating skaters from across South East Queensland, Cr Hagan said.
Wolves of Street is the premier Street Skateboarding Contest in Australia. It is sanctioned by the Australian Skateboarding Federation and delivered by Australian Skateboarding Community Initiative.
When: Saturday 6 August
Where: Gatton Skate Park, Lake Apex Drive/Western Drive, Gatton
Time: 10am - 1pm
