Join us at the 2025 Mayoral Christmas Carols!
The 2025 Mayoral Christmas Carols will be held this Saturday, and we hope to see you there!
In partnership with the Lockyer Valley Ministers Association, the night will feature the Nathan Walmsley Band performing a mix of traditional carols and Christmas favourites
Come along to the Gatton Shire Hall on Saturday, 29 November at 5.30pm, with the stage program commencing at 6.30pm.
Food and beverages will be available to purchase and while entry is free, bookings are essential.
An Auslan interpreter will be present on the night and youngsters will have the chance to write a letter to Santa and enter the Christmas Carnival colouring competition.

Grantham Flood Warning Siren test on Monday
Council will undertake a test activation of the Grantham Flood Warning Siren on Monday 1 December 2025 at 12pm.
Residents will hear a siren tone followed by a verbal message informing them to move to higher ground.
The testing process will take about 10 minutes. This is a TEST only and no cause for alarm.
This is a good opportunity for community members to review their own evacuation plans and consider a range of alternative routes.
The siren was installed to alert the community to significant safety risks including loss of life. It is not used for low-level flooding in general.

Upcoming closure for Lockyer Valley Libraries
Gatton and Laidley Libraries will be closed on Wednesday 3 December for a Library Maintenance Day.
Staff will hold meetings, professional development, tidying, shelving, moving, and general library maintenance.
The returns chutes will still be operational, and you can visit our eLibrary 24x7.
Have your say at Council’s final Pop-Up for the year!
Council will have its final Pop-Up for 2025 at the Grantham Christmas Party this Sunday, 30 November.
Council’s Pop-Up stall is a great opportunity to not only meet Councillors and Council staff, but to also:
- Ask questions
- Provide feedback on consultation projects
- Stay up-to-date on Council initiatives

The Dal Ryan War Memorial Pool in Laidley is open again and looking better than ever!
Following flood repairs, the facility is now looking spectacular and is ready for swimmers to dive back in!
