New Gatton DrumMUSTER drop-off point
Due to increased traffic at the Gatton Waste Facility on Fords Road, the drumMUSTER containers drop-off point has moved to the Treatment Plant Road waste facility.
Disposal conditions remain unchanged:
- Containers must be clean (triple rinsed), free from contamination, and display the drumMUSTER logo
- Limit of 20 drums per customer, per day
- Accepted from both domestic and commercial customers
- Contaminated drums will be classified as ‘General Waste’ and disposed into landfill
Commercial vehicles more than 4.5 tonnes must enter via Fords Road for weigh-in before disposal.
Holiday bin services
Kerbside bin collections will operate as normal over the break, except for Christmas Day when bin services will begin an hour earlier at 5am. Collections will begin at the usual time of 6am on all other days, including New Year’s Day. To avoid missed services, Council recommends residents place bins out the night before.
All Council waste facilities will be closed on Christmas Day. For transfer station and Tip Shop opening hours, visit lockyervalley.qld.gov.au/waste
Artist wanted for Forest Hill Silos Project
Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from experienced artists to create a large-scale public artwork on the four GrainCorp silos at Forest Hill.
The EOI process is now open and will close at 2pm tomorrow, Friday 12 December. Prior experience in a project of this scale is a must! For project details and application guidelines, visit lockyervalley.engagementhub.com.au
Council Christmas Closures
Council offices, Libraries, Visitor Information Centre and the Queensland Transport Museum will close at 1pm Wednesday, 24 December, reopening Monday 5 January.

New opening hours for Laidley Library
From 5 January 2026, Laidley Library will trial a new Wednesday evening service in lieu of its current Saturday morning hours. The late-night Wednesday service, opening until 6pm, will be trialled for six months.
Changes will also see the Laidley Library align with the Customer Service Centre’s operating hours and close at 4.30pm weekdays (except Wednesdays).
