RADF applications open
If you’re interested in delivering arts and cultural projects in the Lockyer Valley - you can apply for funding to support your projects through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), a partnership between the Queensland Government and Lockyer Valley Regional Council.
This fund is designed to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland. Round 3 for 2025-26 is currently open for applications and closes 10am, Friday 24 April 2026.

Growers invited to lock in water future
The Lockyer Valley and Somerset Water Security Scheme will launch its next round of grower engagement on Thursday 9 April to confirm its foundation customers.

Roadworks – Chadwick Road, Gatton
Works on 920 metres of pavement rehabilitation and resealing works along Chadwick Road, Gatton are now underway.
Completed over four to six weeks (weather permitting), these improvements will enhance rideability and safety for motorists and cyclists, and extend the road surface's lifespan, thereby reducing deterioration and the need for frequent maintenance.
Traffic management will be in place, with delays no longer than five minutes expected. To minimise disruption, motorists are urged to follow signage when travelling through the work zone.

The Lockyer Valley Art Gallery’s latest exhibition, titled Oh MG, is finishing up soon!
This exhibition is a celebration of community and storytelling while raising awareness for the rare disease Myasthenia Gravis (MG), which the artist was diagnosed with in 2021.
Pay a visit to Oh MG and you will see a vibrant and beautiful wall drape comprised of more than 2600 crocheted snowflakes from donations all across Australia, a collection of snowflake sculptures created from up-cycled medication bottles collected from MG sufferers nationwide, and a series of vibrant abstract portraits telling the stories of those with MG.
This exhibition is a celebration of community and the power of art as advocacy and runs until 22 March.

Park makeovers for Littleton Park, Gatton and Lions Park, Laidley
Work at both Littleton Park and Lions Park are underway, with the existing playground to be fully removed and a brand-new park installed by mid-2026 (weather permitting).
Built from Australian-made and recycled materials, both parks will see all new playground equipment, new shade sails, inclusive equipment and new softfall.
The diverse range of equipment is designed to encourage physical, cognitive, social and emotional play.
These works have been proudly funded by the Queensland Government.
