Book Week celebrations at Lockyer Valley Libraries

Book Week celebrations will be held at Lockyer Valley Libraries – and you’re invited to come along!

A special Book Week Story Time will be held on Tuesday 25 August (9.30am at Laidley, 10am at Gatton).

Children, families and attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character and join the fun.

Art Gallery exhibition

Make sure you visit Beyond the Brush Strokes: A Visual Collaboration by Susan Butler, Linda Senjov and Sharon Ross at the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery before it’s too late!

This exhibition presents the audience with a collaborative, original and coherent display of artworks produced by three emerging artists. As three friends living and working in the region, the artists are united by a shared passion of artistic expression.

The trio draw inspiration from their surroundings, including the Lockyer Valley and their travel adventures both in Australia and beyond, exploring the dynamic relationship between nature, landscape and the built environment, together with history and tradition.

This exhibition runs until 16 August. The Gallery is located in the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre, Lake Apex Drive, Gatton.

Charity EOIs – last call!

Council is calling for expressions of interest for the next Queensland Transport Museum (QTM) charity recipient for 2026-27.

If you’re part of a military-focused charity, ex-service organisation or community group that supports veterans, current serving personnel and their families in the Lockyer Valley, this could be for you.

The successful organisation will receive funding generated through a portion of QTM ticket sales to deliver positive outcomes for serving and ex-serving defence members.
