Key Selection Criteria

Key Selection Criteria is a series of questions located within the Position Description document which is found in the Job Information Pack available on Council's Recruitment Portal. Whether or not Key Selection Criteria is required depends on the type of position advertised. When addressing the Key Selection Criteria, it is important that you provide real life examples as evidence to demonstrate the skills, experience and knowledge you possess that is relevant to the advertised position. Note: Applications that do not address the position's key selection criteria (where applicable) may not be progressed through to the interview stage, as this criteria is essential to the assessment of applications.
Submitting Your Application
Lockyer Valley Regional Council's preference is for applications to be submitted via:
Upon submitting an application via the Recruitment Portal, you will be sent a series of emails from Council. One email will confirm your identity, and another email will allow you to create an account for the portal. You must complete the 'Confirm your identity' action to successfully submit your application. If you do not confirm your identity, your application will remain in draft status and after a period of time, the system will automatically delete the application.
In regards to the email to create an account for the Recruitment Portal, it is completely up to you the applicant whether or not you complete this step. It is not mandatory and will not impact the processing of your application. However, creating an account is a helpful tool as it will allow you to log in and check your applications status.
To register and log in to our Recruitment Portal, you must enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using an authenticator app. We recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator app for the best experience. This extra layer of security helps protect your account and personal information. For more information about Microsoft Authenticator: Microsoft Mobile Phone Authenticator | Microsoft Security
Once you have created an account through Council's Recruitment Portal, you will not need to complete this step again. Instead, the next time you apply for a position with LVRC you would instead choose to 'Log On' to the portal and our system will then recognise you as a previous applicant. If you submit an application using an existing account, you will not be sent an email to register your account, but you will still receive an email to confirm your identity which is required to successfully submit your application.
Should you experience any issues submitting your application or you do not receive the above-mentioned emails please contact our Organisational Development team on (07) 5466 3555.
Alternatively, applications can also be emailed directly to od@lvrc.qld.gov.au and our team will manually submit the application in our Recruitment Portal.
