Key Selection Criteria
Council may require you to address key selection criteria specific to the vacant position. Key Selection Criteria is a series of questions located in the Position Description document which is found in the Job Information Pack found on Council's Recruitment Portal. The answers to these questions form the basis of our shortlisting process and each response will be assessed to determine applicants for interviews.
Whether or not Key Selection Criteria is required depends on the type of position. As mentioned above Key Selection Criteria is found in the Position Description document with the Job Information Pack. Council will also specify on the front page of the Job Information Pack as to whether or not Key Selection Criteria is required to submit an application.
When addressing the Key Selection Criteria, it is important that you provide real life examples as evidence to demonstrate the skills, experience and knowledge you possess that is relevant to the advertised position. For further information on how to address Key Selection Criteria, a 'How to' guide can be found on the last page of the Job Information Pack.
Again, please ensure your Key Selection Criteria document is formatted in a PDF document. This document must be attached under the Job Attachments section of the online application made through Council's Recruitment Portal.
Note: Applications that do not address the position's key selection criteria (when applicable) may not be progressed through to the interview stage, as this criteria is essential to the assessment of applications.
Submitting Your Application
Lockyer Valley Regional Council's preference is for applications to be submitted via:
Upon submitting an application via the Recruitment Portal you will be sent a series of emails from Council. One email will confirm your identity and another email will allow you to create an account for the portal. You must complete the 'Confirm your identity' action to successfully submit your application. If you do not confirm your identity your application will remain as a draft in our system and after a period of time it will automatically delete if not confirmed.
As for the email to create an account for the Recruitment Portal, it is completely up to you whether or not you do this. However, creating an account is a helpful tool as it will allow you to log in and check your applications status.
Once you have created a recruitment account with Council's portal you won't need to do this again. Instead the next time you apply for a job with LVRC you would instead choose to 'Log On' to the portal and our system will then recognise you as a previous applicant. If you submit an application using an existing account you will not be sent an email to register your account but you will still receive an email to confirm your identity which submits your application.
Should you experience any issues submitting your application or you do not receive the above mentioned emails please contact our Organisational Development team on (07) 5466 3555.
Alternatively applications can also be emailed directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
