PUBLIC NOTICE

REPEAL OF TEMPORARY LOCAL PLANNING INSTRUMENT 2024 (FLOOD REGULATION) AND ADOPTION OF TEMPORARY LOCAL PLANNING INSTRUMENT 2026 (FLOOD REGULATION)

Notice is given under the Planning Act 2016 that on 15 July 2026 Lockyer Valley Regional Council:

a. repealed Temporary Local Planning Instrument 2024 (Flood Regulation); and

b. adopted Temporary Local Planning Instrument 2026 (Flood Regulation).

The repeal of Temporary Local Planning Instrument 2024 (Flood Regulation) and commencement of Temporary Local Planning Instrument 2026 (Flood Regulation) are effective from 20 July 2026.

Temporary Local Planning Instrument 2026 (Flood Regulation) will cease to have effect on 20 July 2028, unless repealed earlier.

Temporary Local Planning Instrument 2026 (Flood Regulation) applies to the whole of the Lockyer Valley local government area and its purpose and general effect are to enhance the community’s resilience to flood hazard by:

• suspending the operation of specific provisions of the Lockyer Valley Planning Scheme 2024; and
• applying new provisions including implementation of a flood hazard overlay and flood hazard overlay code.

Copies of Temporary Local Planning Instrument 2026 (Flood Regulation) can be inspected and purchased at Council’s customer service centres at 26 Railway Street, Gatton, and 9 Spicer Street, Laidley, and viewed on Council’s website.
