The Lockyer Valley Mayoral Carols are back! Join in on the free family fun with live entertainment by Nathan Walmsley Band.

Write a letter to Santa (He does respond!). Then grab some dinner from the Gatton Lions Club, and a doughnut for dessert from the Salvation Army!

Everyone is welcome for a night of fun!

Lockyer Valley Christmas Carnival

Friday, 19 December 2025 | 5.30pm - 8.30pm | North Street, Gatton

Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s annual Lockyer Valley Christmas Carnival is back on Friday 19 December, with Gatton’s North Street set to come alive with festive fun and community spirit.

This year’s event will feature Santa’s visit, the popular ham wheel, roving festive characters, real-life reindeer for photos and a huge inflatable playground for all ages. Christmas markets and colourful displays will add even more festive cheer.

The stage program will include performances by local dance groups, traditional carols and favourite Christmas songs by talented local musicians.

A range of delicious food will be available from community groups and local vendors, with everything from classic dinner options to sweet treats.

Mark your calendar and celebrate the magic of Christmas at the Lockyer Valley Christmas Carnival.

Christmas Competitions

Get in the festival spirit this season by taking part in any of the below competitions.

Winners will be announced at the Lockyer Valley Christmas Carnival.

Grab your pens, pencils, paints, markers or crayons for your chance to win a $50 Lockyer Valley gift card.

One gift card will be awarded to the winner in each of the following age groups:

  • 3-6 years
  • 7-9 years
  • 10-12 years

Download your colouring-in sheet here and hand-in to either of the following locations:

  • Gatton Administration Building: 26 Railway St, Gatton
  • Laidley Customer Service: 9 Spicer St, Laidley
  • Lockyer Valley Visitor Information Centre

Entries close at 5pm on Friday, 12 December 2025.

Celebrate the magic of Christmas by writing to Santa and receiving a response.

Santa is using the Gatton and Laidley Libraries as a collection point for his letters. If you drop them into his special mailboxes by 17 December, either Santa or Mrs Claus will respond.

Any letters dropped off after this time will be sent to Santa but he won't have time to respond, he's told us he's busy packing his sleigh.

You can write your own letter or print the templates provided - please remember to include your name and address if you want a response.
