Impounded Animals
Is your pet in the pound?
If we have your animal in the pound, call us on 1300 005 872 during the hours of 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) to arrange to pay any relevant fees and to release your pet.
If it has not been reported as being found or has not been impounded, you are able to report the animal as being 'lost' and have it placed within our Lost Register'.

Release of animals at pound
Animals are released from the Gatton Pound, which is located on Treatment Plant Road, Gatton. Please view 'How to make release payment' section on the left-hand side of this page, as you must pay your fees before collecting your animal.
The times for animal releases from the pound are:
- 8.30am - 10am Monday to Friday
- 2pm - 4pm Monday to Friday
A map can be obtained for directions to the pound at Council's Administration Building when you pay your fees.
Have you lost your pet?
To report your pet as lost, call us on 1300 005 872 to record your pet on our Lost Animal Register. The register is updated daily and includes details of all pets reported to us as lost.
We will then search our Found Animal Register and Impound Register to identify if the animal has been reported as being found or has been impounded. If it has been reported as being found, we will provide you with the finder's details.
If it has been impounded, we will refer you to our Animal Management Area.
Note: If you have reported your pet as lost and it has been found, don't forget to call us on 1300 005 872 to remove your pet's details from our register.
Have you found someone's pet?
To report an animal as found', please call 1300 005 872. We will take the animal's details and your details and register them in our Found Animal Register.
We will then search our Lost Register to identify if the animal has been reported as lost. If this is the case, we will contact owner and pass on your details so that the animal can be reunited with its owners.
